Publications

In this section publications and technical notes concerning the CERF facility are available.

If you wish to add your own publication involving the use of the CERF facility, contact Mr. Fabio Pozzi.

There are three main publications which should be referenced in context of using data obtained during an experiment at CERF:

  1. “The CERN-EU high-energy Reference Field (CERF) facility for dosimetry at commercial flight altitudes and in space”, A. Mitaroff and M. Silari, Radiation Protection Dosimetry 102, 7-22, 2002.
  2. “Monitoring reactions for the calibration of relativistic hadron beams”, A. Ferrari, F. P. La Torre, G. P. Manessi, F. Pozzi and M. Silari, Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research A 763, 177-183, 2014.
  3. “The CERN-EU high-energy Reference Field (CERF) facility: applications and latest developments”, M. Silari and F. Pozzi, EPJ Web of Conferences 153, 03001, 1-6, 2017.

An additional publication that may be of interest, dealing with the impact of the new ICRP/ICRU quantities on the CERF reference values, is:

  1. Impact of the newly proposed ICRU/ICRP quantities on neutron calibration fields and extended range neutron rem-counters, F. Pozzi, M. Ferrarini, F. Ferulli and M. Silari, Journal of Radiological Protection 39, 920–937, 2019.
